ChatGPT Commands for Photo Editing: 200 Ready Prompts
ChatGPT commands for photo editing: 200 ready prompts for retouching, light, background, 3D and product shots. Pick a command and the prompt is filled in for you.
ChatGPT commands for photo editing work like this: each has a short name such as /relight or /removebg, and behind it sits a ready prompt. Pick a command, upload a photo, take the result. You type nothing.
Below are all 200 commands with a note on what each is for, plus why one wording works and an almost identical one does not.
In short
- 200 commands, 13 sections: retouching, skin and face, light, color, background, portrait, clothing, product, framing, 3D, illustration, infographics, creative.
- 162 run in one click. The other 38 need one word from you: which object, which color, which text.
- This is not OpenAI syntax. In ChatGPT itself
/relightstays plain text: the slash here is part of the name, so the command is easy to spot in a long list. - The engine: GPT Image 2. One photo up to 25 MB, from 3 tokens per image.
- The whole list is built into the generation form on Pixyn, so you do not need to copy prompts into another service.
Why a command and not just a prompt
A prompt has to be remembered. Behind a command name the text is already written.
Take the task "change the light on a portrait". A working prompt looks like this:
Change only the lighting: soft window light from the left, natural shadows.
Keep everything else.
The whole point is in the second line. Remove it, and the model will also change the person's clothes, fix the background and "improve" the skin into plastic. It is also the first thing you forget when typing the prompt by hand for the fifth time a day. In /relight it is built in for good.
Don't do this: "make the photo nicer", "improve it somehow", "edit it professionally". The model does not know your "nicer" and changes everything at once, and the tokens are charged as for a normal run. The formula of a working command is always the same: what to change plus what not to touch.
All 200 commands and what they are for
What follows is the full reference. You do not have to read it in a row: find your section and take a command. All of them are collected in the ChatGPT Commands action: there you pick them from a list and type nothing.

✱ means the command will ask for a short clarification: which object, which color, which text. There are 38 of them out of 200.
How a record is built
Three parts: the command, the purpose for a person, the text for the model. Here are two records in English translation:
/removebg: Remove background
Remove the background and make it transparent, keeping the subject and clean edges.
/restore: Restoration
Restore the old photograph: remove scratches, dust, tears and fading,
keep the face and the original composition.
Look at the tail: "keeping the subject", "keep the face and the original composition". It is in every command. It is the brake: it stops the model from redoing half the frame along the way.
Prompts for photo editing in ChatGPT: how to write your own
A prompt for photo editing in ChatGPT is built from three parts: what to change, what to aim the edit at, and what to leave as it was. The third part is easy to skip, although it is exactly what holds the face, the background and the composition in place.
| Part | What to write | Example from /sharpen |
|---|---|---|
| What to change | one task, as a verb | "Increase the sharpness" |
| What to aim at | an area of the frame, the measure or the character of the edit | "of important details" |
| What to keep | what the model must not touch | "keeping the natural skin texture" |
Prompts to improve photo quality
The typical cases: the photo is blurry, noisy or small. Below are five commands from the "Retouching and restoration" section, built on this scheme, in English translation. Paste their text into ChatGPT together with the photo as an ordinary prompt: the slash name means nothing there, and the text reads as an instruction.
General improvement when it is unclear what exactly is wrong (/enhance):
Improve the photo: increase detail, local contrast and clarity, keeping natural skin and the original composition.
A small picture that needs to be large (/upscale):
Increase the image resolution and restore fine details without halos or excessive sharpening.
Shot in the dark, and color noise spread across the frame (/denoise):
Remove digital noise and color noise, keeping hair, fabric texture and fine details.
Smeared by motion (/deblur):
Reduce slight motion blur and restore details without changing the face.
The photo went through three messengers and broke into blocks (/compression):
Reduce JPEG artifacts and blockiness, keeping text and fine details.
If you do not know what to choose, take /enhance. More on increasing resolution: the AI upscaling guide.
How to adapt a ready prompt to yourself
Change the middle, keep the tail. Take /relight:
Change only the lighting: soft window light from the left, natural shadows.
Keep everything else.
Need a sunset? Change only the middle:
Change only the lighting: warm sunset light from the right, long soft shadows.
Keep everything else.
The second line stayed word for word. Edit any command this way: the direction of the edit is yours, and what holds the frame in place stays.
Don't do this: "remove the background, brighten the skin and add sharpness" in one request. If you do not like the result, you will not know which of the three edits ruined it. One task per run. Do the next edit on the frame you got.
Run any command from the collection in the ChatGPT Commands action: the text fills in itself.
38 commands ask for a clarification
38 of the 200 prompts have a gap in square brackets:
/replaceobject: Replace object
Replace only [object] with [new object], keeping the perspective, light and shadows.
The most common request is [description], in eight commands. Then [TEXT] (5), [object] (4), [color] and [place] (three each). A clarification field appears under the list, labeled with the name of the gap. While it is empty, the generate button does not press: otherwise the model would get the square brackets literally and return garbage for your tokens.
Why we don't fill something in ourselves: filling in an object for you means guessing. An empty field is better than an invented value.
Tips for a clean result
- One command, one change. Light, clothes and background in one go are three runs, each working with the result of the previous one.
- Check the format and quality. A command does not touch the frame format and the quality: these are separate selects next to it.
/story916recomposes the picture for vertical, so set the vertical format in the settings too. - If the file is rejected, re-save it as an ordinary JPEG or PNG. The input limit is 25 MB.
How to run it
Upload a photo, choose a section, choose a command. Is there a gap? Fill in the clarification field and press generate.
Uploading is available from an account: the form asks you to log in at the very first step, before you spend anything. Log in by email, via Telegram or Google. New accounts get 6 tokens, and with the default settings the processing costs exactly 3, so you can run your first command without topping up.
You write the prompt nowhere, and the command text goes to the model verbatim, without translation or rewriting. This matters: run a wording through a translator, and the tail "keep the face and composition" gets diluted, and the brake goes with it.
We tested it on /productexploded, the one that takes an item apart into components. A request about a passenger car: the model returned a technical exploded-view diagram with a numbered legend of 25 components: body panels, seats, engine, transmission, suspension, frame, wheels. One click, three tokens.
Frequently asked questions about ChatGPT commands
Do these commands work in ChatGPT itself?
Not as commands. OpenAI has no such syntax, and /relight in the chat stays plain text. The chat solves the task itself, but you have to put the wording together yourself and not forget the "what not to touch" tail, otherwise the model redoes half the frame along the way. Here these 200 wordings are already tuned and go to the model verbatim for you.
How much does one edit cost? From 3 tokens per image. The exact figure depends on the quality and is shown on the button before the run. Plans are on the pricing page.
Can I apply two commands in a row? Yes, the result of the first becomes the input for the second. That is how complex edits are built.
The result is not right. What should I check first? The format and the quality in the right panel: most often the contradiction sits there. Then try splitting the task into two commands. An overview of common generation errors is in the FAQ.
Open the 200 commands →. Upload a photo, choose a command, take the result. The form asks you to log in at the first step; sign-up is by email, via Telegram or Google. Plans are on the pricing page.
